The Saudi Standards Organization (SASO) (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization) has recently updated its list of products that enforce SABER registration applications. The newly added products will have to apply for PC+SC through the SABER system from June 1, 2019.

The products covered by SASO's newly added 5 types of regulations will only accept the SC issued by the SABER system after June 1 and the COC certificate issued before May 15. Specific products include:

1. Technical Regulation for Electrical Lifts used in Buildings & Installations. Electric elevators (for buildings and facilities)

2. Technical Regulation for building materials part 1: Metals and their Alloys for constructions and buildings

3. Technical Regulation for building materials part 2: Insulating and Cladding Materials for buildings insulation and cladding materials

4. Technical Regulation for building materials part 3: Hydraulic Links and Related Products

5. Technical Regulation for building materials part 4: Bricks, Tiles, Ceramics, Sanitary ware bricks, tiles, ceramics, sanitary ware

SABER registration process

The first stage: PC certificate (product compliance certificate)

Importers register for SABER system account or contact us for registration;

◆The importer inputs the applied product information to the SABER system;
◆The importer chooses the certification body in the SABER system;
For example "TUV Rheinland Hong Kong Limited";
◆Pay the PC certificate fee;
◆The certification body receives the application and contacts the importer and exporter to provide the certification documents;
◆The certification body submits the approved documents to SABER system;
◆Issuing a PC certificate, the certificate is valid for 1 year;

The second stage: SC certificate (batch compliance certificate)

◆Importer submits SC application to SABER system;
◆The certification body confirms the validity of the PC certificate;
◆Pay the SC certification fee;
◆Issuing SC certificate, the certificate is only for the imported goods of the batch;
