The Saudi Arabian standards organization SASO has confirmed that from April 1, 2019, the products included in the following three technical regulations will have to be registered on the SABER platform and apply for a product PC (Product Certificate) certificate and batch SC (Shipment Certificate) certificate can successfully enter the Saudi market, products include:

Low-voltage electrical equipment and appliances (Gulf Technical Regulations for low voltage electrical equipment and appliances)
Toy Products (Gulf Technical Regulations for Children's toys)
Lubricating oil (Technical Regulations for Lubricating Oils)
Small partners who are concerned about Saudi Arabia's import and export trade must know. Starting January 1, 2019, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has launched a new Saudi Product Certification Program (SALEEM) and will gradually replace the current compliance certification. To this end, SASO has developed a new online system SABER. The so-called SABER is an online network system tool launched by the Saudi Bureau of Standards, which is used for product registration, issuance and obtaining a batch of SC Certificate (Shipment Certificate) for customs clearance. SALEEM certification is a conformity certification evaluation program for Saudi local companies.

SABER certification process

Stage: PC certificate (product compliance certificate)

Importers register for SABER system account or contact us for registration;

◆ The importer inputs the applied product information to the SABER system;

◆ Importer chooses certification body in SABER system

◆ Pay PC certificate fees;

◆ Upon receipt of the application, the certification body contacts the importer and exporter to provide the certification documents;

◆ The certification body submits the approved documents to the SABER system;

◆ Issuing a PC certificate, the certificate is valid for 1 year

The second stage: SC certificate (batch compliance certificate)

◆ Importer submits SC application to SABER system;

◆ The certification body confirms the validity of the PC certificate;

◆ Pay the SC certification fee;

◆ Issuing SC certificate, the certificate is only for the imported goods of the batch
