The official website of the Indian Bureau of Standards issued an announcement announcing the IS 10322 implementation rules for LED luminaire standards

On the evening of January 28, 2019, the official website of the Indian Bureau of Standards issued an announcement announcing the decision regarding the implementation of Amendment 1 (Amendment 1) in 2013 for the IS 10322 (Part 5/Sec 5) LED lighting standard; LED Flood Light.

 


Regarding the "Luminaires: Part 5 detailed requirements, Chapter 5 Flood Light" standard IS 10322 (Part 5/Sec 5): 2013 Amendment 1 (Amendment 1) mandatory guidance.
1. IS 10322 (Part 5/ Sec 5): Amendment 1 of 2013 has been officially released. The mandatory implementation date of the amendment is September 18, 2019.

 


2. The most significant change in this amendment is the inclusion of photometric requirements for LED lamps.

 


3. The guidelines for the mandatory implementation of the amendment are as follows:

 


a) All licensees must ensure that all models marked with Standard Mark comply with all requirements of IS 10322 (Part 5/ Sec 5): 2013 standard, including Amendment 1 (Amendment 1).

 

b) Fresh/Inclusion applications submitted to BIS will be accepted directly if the report has met IS 10332 (Part 5/ Sec 5): 2013 standards and Amendment 1 requirements.

 

c) Fresh/Inclusion application submitted to BIS. If the report does not cover the requirements of Amendment 1, BIS stipulates that the deadline for accepting such reports is one month before the mandatory implementation date, that is, August 18, 2019; submit after that date The report of the application must cover the requirements of Amendment 1.

 


d) All licensees must submit supplementary reports on or before September 18, 2019 to complete the revision of standards for all major models covered by the certificate. The supplementary report needs to be issued by a BIS accredited laboratory. After September 18, 2019, all IS 10322 (Part 5/Sec 5): 2013 certificates must ensure that the amendment to the standard is completed.

 


e) If a registered manufacturer fails to complete the standard amendment on or before September 18, 2019, BIS will take corresponding measures in accordance with the BIS compliance assessment rules 2018.

 


All registered manufacturers and applicants must take timely action to complete the mandatory implementation of the above amendments.
