US FCC-SDOC has begun to enforce certification

On November 2, 2017, the FCC issued the FR 2017-23217 document, using the supplier's compliance certification process to replace the original self-verification and compliance declaration; on July 2, 2018, the SDoC usage guidance document was released:

KDB 896810 D01 and KDB 896810 D02.

From November 2, 2018, the United States will enforce the FCC SDoC.

Standards involved:

47 CFR PART 15 Subpart B;

47 CFR PART 18

Tips

(1) According to the latest FCC KDB file, if the product itself has not undergone any changes or updates, and has obtained FCC DoC or FCC VoC certification before November 2, there is no need to retest or apply for FCC SDoC certification; but if If the product is changed or updated, it must be retested and certified. In addition, equipment within the scope of SDoC can choose to apply for FCC ID

 

(2) For products within the scope of Label, Part 15, if the device is too small to display fonts of size 4 or larger, and the device has no display screen to display electronic labels, the label must be placed on the user manual and must also be Displayed on the package or removable label attached to the product. According to KDB Publication 784748, e-labels are allowed for products with a built-in display (and not removable).

 

(3) FCC Logo is voluntary. According to the provisions of FCC Regulation 2.1074, under the FCC SDoC certification process, customers can voluntarily choose to use FCC Logo, no longer mandatory.

 

(4) For the FCC SDoC, a declaration document must be provided by the responsible party before it can be sold. The responsible party needs to be a manufacturer, an assembly plant, an importer, a retailer, or an authorized party. The U.S. FCC has made the following regulations for the responsible party:

     . The responsible party must be a local US company;

    .The responsible party must require that during the FCC market spot inspection, products, test reports, and corresponding records can be provided to ensure that the products comply with the FCC SDoC procedures;

    . The responsible party shall add the declaration of conformity file to the file accompanying the equipment.

 

(5) Regarding the declaration document, it is required to ship and sell together with the product. According to Article 2.1077 of the FCC regulations, the declaration file should contain the following content:

   . Product information: such as product name, model, etc.;

   . FCC compliance warnings: due to different products, the warnings are also different;

  . Information of the responsible party in the United States: company name, address, telephone number or Internet contact information;
